This weekend I decided to sit down and finish up my squares for Jeannette Shanigans Bead Quilt. This years theme is "Life is beautiful like the rose, but beware of thorns". The deadline to have your squares to her is April 1st, then she will construct the quilt, and donate it to Bead Artists against Breast Cancer . I think its great that so many people want to contribute to such a worthwhile cause. Too many families are affected by cancer of all kinds. I am glad that even though I don't have the money to donate to things like this, that I can use my talents to help.
In case you don't know, March is National Colorectal Cancer Research month, and speaking of good cancer research donations, the auctions for Beading for a Cure are underway now and will continue through May 4Th. Try to take some time and check out the eye candy that all of these fabulous artists have donated to help raise funds for colorectal cancer research.
